چکیده

Background: Several studies reported the role platelet activation, volume (MPV) and other Indices in breast cancer but data is inconsistent and/or diverse. The aim of this study was to systematically evaluate activation indices women with BC as predictors for progression poor prognosis. Methods: Patients were recruited from our local oncology center between 2019 2020 following ethics approval. 80 patients locally invasive BC, 20 metastatic 100 controls recruited. ADP-induced assessed by light-transmission aggregometry. Platelet P-selectin (CD62P) expression without ADP stimulation flow cytometry. A comprehensive analysis count (PVIs) (MPV, PDW, MPV/P PDW/P) conducted. Data analyzed relation tumor pathology, hormone receptors (ER, PR, HER-2) proliferation index Ki-67. Regression analyses conducted prediction prognosis, aggression potential. Results: We found a significant increase aggregation (MA), CD62P expression, CD62P+ADP, MPV, PDW/P group compared group. Univariate regression showed significance ADP, MA, MPV PDW/P. Conclusion: can be used simple low-cost conclude specific help predict prognosis females BC.

Platelet count and platelet indices in women with preeclampsia

BACKGROUND Although the exact pathophysiology of preeclampsia is not completely understood, the utility of different platelets indices can be utilized to predict preeclampsia. OBJECTIVE To compare platelet indices, namely platelet count (PC), mean platelet volume (MPV), platelet distribution width (PDW), and PC to MPV ratio in women with preeclampsia compared with healthy controls. SETTING ...

Platelet Counts and Platelet Activation Markers in Obese Subjects

OBJECTIVE In this work we studied the correlation between platelet count, platelet activation, and systemic inflammation in overweight, obese, and morbidly obese individuals. METHODS AND SUBJECTS A total of 6319 individuals participated in the study. Complete blood counts, high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) serum levels, and body mass index (BMI) were measured during routine checkup...

Plasma levels of beta-thromboglobulin and platelet factor 4 as indices of platelet activation in vivo.

Measurement of plasma levels of two secreted platelet proteins (beta-thromboglobulin and platelet factor 4) has been suggested as a means for detecting increased platelet activation in vivo. A crucial question in the measurement is the distinction between in vivo and in vitro secretion of the proteins. One approach to this distinction is the measurement of both proteins in each sample. These pr...
